Yea, I haven’t posted in like forever. Sorry. I was busy cause it was the end of the semester. Anyways, I don’t really remember what I missed, except that we had the first meeting of our Homeowner’s Association on Tuesday night. This is something Caleb and I organized, in response to growing concerns of our neighbors that some of the people in our subdivision didn’t appear to be upholding the covenants we signed at closing (like keeping neat yards, no tractors in view, dogs off leash, etc.) There were some tense moments, but in general, it went well, and the realtor said it was the best first meeting of an HOA he’s ever seen. The funniest part was seeing everyone realize that Caleb and I were, in fact, the Caleb and Lindsay that started the neighborhood listserv and did all of the HOA organization. They were obviously expecting someone much older, so I think they were impressed.
Additionally, I ran the aforementioned Twilight Criterium in a new personal record of 29:38. Despite this milestone, the run SUCKED because I paced myself totally inappropriately and ran the first mile in like 8:40. Oops. And then after that, there were several pretty steep hills. Since then, my running has just been off and has felt overly laborious, but fortunately, today was a good run. 2.8 miles around my subdivision (which is very hilly) in 28:22. Glad to be back on track. And additionally, I may do a 10K (gasp) at the end of June. It’s in Winterville, so it seems silly to not do it, even though my original training plan was to do an 8K in November. So, I’m not necessarily planning on running the whole thing, cause it’s gonna be hot and also 6.2 miles, but we’ll see what I can do.
In other news, Caleb and I are going to Colorado next week to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We’re going to Denver first to spend some time with Spencer, Al, and the newly-engaged Henry, and then we’re off to a condo in Dillon. Apparently, it snowed in Dillon today. Geez. And this is supposed to be our summer vacation! Our plan is to use Dillon as our base, as it is within 2 hours of a lot of great places like Rocky Mountain National Park, Boulder, Breckenridge, Vail, etc. The current plan is not to ski (but we’ll see how that changes once Caleb gets there and sees snow), but to do mostly hiking, white water rafting, brewery/winery tours, etc. It’s going to be rad.
